About Depot

·205 words·1 min

I’m a few days late from the last post, I’m trying to document the things that make sense to publically. I’ve been doing bookkeeping stuff behind the scenes, and have just now gotten most of it situated. Currently, the next thing on my list now is to customize the Pears Forgejo code forge, Depot. I’ve got the branding worked out for the main Pears website, and have added a runner to Depot so that I can use Actions to generate this site using Hugo. Basically, the way this works is we use Actions to tell the runner on push to re-generate the Hugo site. The runner spawns a sacrificial container, installs Hugo in it, generates the new site using the pushed commits, and dumps it on the server.

I have a confirmed way to track invoices, so now I can focus on Pears-specific stuff. The forge is where all of my work lives, and I want the site to reflect that. So, I need to strip Forgejo of its stock branding and start learning how to modify its CSS. My plan here shortly is to pull down a local copy, and push up the customizations to Depot. I’ll make a post outlining that when done.
